I'm pretty new to blogging - What I wanted to do was to begin a discussion and ask a question about a new topic, NOT comment on a previous posting.

So, here's my discussion/question.

I know that God considered Job a man who was "blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil."

I know, because the gospel message tells me, that none of us is without sin. This seems to be the message his three friends were trying to get Job to realize (although they were quite harsh with their words). In particular, Job 22 lists a number of specific injustices that Eliphaz saw in Job's life. Could these "observations" by Eliphaz be misunderstandings or outright lies of the enemy to discredit Job?

In the end, I know that Job repented in dust and ashes and was rewarded by God. Job did eventually humble himself before God - something that God always rewards. I see that God also had harsh words for Elipahz and his two friends.

So, I guess my question is, "Do the events listed in Job give us a real-life picture of the spiritual warfare that we can experience in our modern day lives? Can we expect to be presented with false accusations of bad character, etc.? Can we expect that people will believe the lies of the enemy as absolute truth and harden their hearts toward us?"

I sort of have an answer to my own question - YES, because I've experienced it, but I wanted to hear what you and others have to say about it.

I eagerly await everyone's comments.
